Wanted: Things / Parts / Luggage to prepare F650 GS Dakar
Preparing my bog standard BMW F650 GS Dakar for the big trip and need some things. I've had some good know how help through here so I'm hopeful!
  • Heavy duty bash plate. Doesn't have to be clean but preferably not 'bashed'
  • Exhaust replacement to convert to single pipe without CC. Good condition only. Preferably Staintune or scorpion etc.
  • Frames for soft luggage - Andy Strapz or Ortleib panniers type
  • Top rack to stow luggage etc across the back
  • Any other useful essentials that I might like or appreciate

I'm on a limited budget but would be happy to consider stuff.

I would read through Bob Morely's Blogs and web site. Perhaps PM him with questions. He's done a ton of repair and maintenance on the F650's and been round the world a couple times on one. A proper expert. He is Smellybiker here on HUBB. He has a post about KLR's that is recent if you want to PM him. Or go to below link to learn more.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
