XR650L overland equipment wanted - UK
I've just taken delivery of a superb XR650L, and I'm about to start preparing it for an overland trip in about a years time.
I've read a few accounts of preparing these bikes, and I'm looking for anything for sale in the UK really. It's totally stock at the moment, even got the smog kit on, so anything considered.

I'd also really like to talk to someone who has gone through this preparation process with an XRL, so if anyone would be willing to share some info with me, I'd really appreciate it.

Which tank's best, where to buy, after market exhausts, jetting kits, seat mods, custom made pannier racks, stator output details, strengthening the frame etc..

I'm guessing Chris Scott would be one of the best resources for this info, any idea if he's a the 2008 HU meeting? Or are any XRL owners going to the meeting?

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
