Biker Down in Gabon
Not sure if this has been posted here yet, but very sad to report that an overland biker was involved in an accident in Gabon in mid May and did not survive.
General details was that 3 or 4 riders were heading south down the west coast to SA for the world cup when the tragic accident occured east of Ndjole. That section of the road is very twisty and narrow with limited visibility ahead due to the narrow track and heavy vegetation on the road sides. It is common for vehicles to cross the centre line to negotiate the tight corners and at the police checkpoint outside of Ndjole they are warning riders to go slow, stay as far outside of your lane as possible and to be extra aware of the oncoming traffic.
Deepest condolescences to his family and friends during what certainly must be a very difficult time.
A stark reminder of the many dangers that all riders face, at home and abroad. Be careful out there.

That's very sad.
My thoughts are with his family...

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
