Custom problems after visiting Israël.
Hello everyone. I’m planning my motortrip from Holland to South Africa.
To get to Africa, I’ve chosen a cargo ship from Greece to Israel. After a visit to Jordania, I want to enter Africa through Egypt. It appears that countries like Sudan refuse people who have visited Israel.
Are there any Travellers who have experience in this matter?

I have not personally but have always avoided Israel for that reason, you will find an Israeli stamp or any other sign that you have been there will get you excluded from many Islamic countries.

You have to ask not to stamp your passport at border of Israel.
But please check current situation whether they do it and in which conditions.
Some countries give double passport to traders in order to avoid these conflicts. May be you get?

I was looking into this a while ago.
Israel does not stamp passports, but gives you a separate immigraiton card which is stamped.
The problem is that Egypt will always stamp your passport, so a stamp from Taba in Egypt is as good as an Israeli stamp.
Jordan will stamp a separate paper when you enter, but then you will have no entry stamp for Jordan, only an exit stamp (and a visa). I'm not sure if officials in Sudan will look this closely, but it would be a risk.
As a separate issue, currently it is not possible for motorcycles or 4x4s to cross Sinai, so this is your major issue. The situation may return to normal though in the near future.

It seems that with the right amount of bakshish and a good fixer it could be possible although probably far from simple.
I believe that Nora @ Adventurism made it into Sudan a couple of days ago, after taking the exact same route through Israel and Egypt that you are planning. You can find her on this forum or ask her about it via social media.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
