If you followed the news about the tsunami in Asia you would have noticed that there is a hughe problem to identify the body's because of the terrible state after lying in the warm water for a couple of days allready.
They try to identify by taking the tooth out and compare them with data from dentists. But this is not allways easy and correct.
The best and surest way to identify is compare DNA fingerprints, but the problem is : how to get any DNA material to compare with. It also takes some time to get these data.
My suggestion would be : Isnt better to get your DNA Fingerprint and store these in a database with your passport details?
This should take place on a voluntary base without any extra costs for the passport holder. And should be only available for people who apply for a passport, these are the one's who travel.
Can be usefull in many occasions like ; planecrash, hughe fire's, missing etc etc.
You as travellers to remote area's, what would you think about this ? And would you use this if it would be possible ?
Oke, we all think that us can't happen anything, but would you expect this to be happen if you where sunbathing surrounded by some thai massagegirls drinking an ice cold
at the shores of an exotic hotel ?
