Here's an update on the Pakistan-India border crossing : we crossed yesterday, June 23rd without the slightest problem.
As there's simply no-one crossing, we had all the custom officers to ourselves. Tea on the Pakistani side, aircoolers on the Indian side.
And the very first annoying guy on any border : an assistent of the officer checking the Carnets on the Paki side. He plainly asked for money "so things would go faster". We talked our way around the issue. We never ever handed over money for crossing borders and did not intend to change this basic idea now.
Indian side was a little 'cooler' then the Paki side, but without the slightest problem. We prepared for solid luggage searching, but they just checked the framenumber and did not even glance at the luggage.
So, all open and well for the time being :-)
