Travelling (business) card scam
Hi all,
I normally hand out a home made card with my email and name to like minded travelers who I meet up with on the road. I received an email this morning from some enterprising soul who has obviously found one of these business cards.
While I'm curious to find out where one of my cards ended up in the world - did someone have it in their wallet that was lost/stolen etc? It screams scam to me and just wanted to let other travelers know what is now being done with the cards.
Perhaps this is old news, but it is the first time I have come across it in all my years of handing these cards out.
Kind regards
Ben.
The email:
Sir,
I found a money clip with a business card in it. The card has the name Ben (last name) and an email address of (email address). The card has a picture of a man standing in front of a rock formation with a motorcycle. There are other items and markings that I will use to help ID the owner. If this belongs to you are if you have connection to this item let me know.
Thanks,
Jason M.
