hi,
we were on 2 Africa Twins, did 60 % camping/staying with locals and 40 % hostels. For eating, drinking staying overnight, haveing fun, gasoline, borders, maintenance of the bikes, we needed about 1000 euros per month (both together). It was about 1700 in Alaska ( and gas was expensive there) and 550 in Bolivia.
Canada: ca. 1000 Euro
Alaska: ca. 1700 Euro
USA: ca. 900 Euro
Mexico: ca. 1000 Euro
Central America: ca. 700 Euro
Ecuador: ca. 900 Euro
Peru: ca. 800 Euro
Chile: ca. 1000 Euro
Bolivien: ca. 550 Euro
Argentinien:ca. 800 Euro
you are cheaper when u are camping n the woods more often and drink less .
we have been in Juli/August in Alaska in Mexico from Jan to March and in Patagonia around x-mas. If you travel slow, talk to locals and behave relaxed and positive you will prob. have no problems at all but lots of fun.
take care
Martin
