Yemen
Hi Ivan,
Been there a few years ago for 20 days. There was no problem at all during our stay though police was escorting us somewhere and bedouins at the desert.
We didn't meet any problem there and we have been all over the country.
In the middle of the desert at the Shibam city we met two single Spanish ladies and had dinner and continued together with them.
People is great, they look hard at the first look but they are friendly though very poor. Take some little present which they can use with you (I took 100 pcs of ballpoint pens with me).
Still have contacts and follow the country very close. I think there is no problem at all at the moment.
Don't forget to smile, shake hand and respect to everyone. Beware of entering cemeteries and mosques. Do not do that, you are a foreigner and shouldn't enter those places.
Don't go in monsoon season and in hot season.
Find a good map before going there, othervise can meet some difficulties. Where do you plan to visit there? may be of help...
Sure you will like it.
Samy
