Around the world on a Ninja
Hi,
I'm writing this message from Moscow, Russia. I am currenly circling the world on a Kawasaki ZX-6 Ninja (ZZ-R600 int. ID). One year into my trip and I allready have a lot to tell, it's a hell of a trip. I have no sponsors and work full time form country to country. But now I'm realizing that I won't be able to continue this trend, I need to find companies or individuals that can back me up somehow. I'm soon heading into Northern Africa, the Middle east, and Asia. If you got the chance, please visit my web site to check out this trip at www.worldtrip.ca . Right now I need to boost the visitor numbers. If you have a web site and could put a link to mine I would return the favor. You can e-mail me from my site.
Thanks,
Ian Mathers

I wish I could help you out, mate, but if I could get a sponsor for a world motorcycle tour I'd ask them to sponsor me! :-)

Hi Ian,
You might want to try getting local sponsors as you travel...try to find some way of offering something of value to them... usually publicity of some kind.
That's what I did during my world trip... usually "going in cold" to a company such as Japan Air Lines... networking to find win/win solutions to their needs and your onward travel needs.
You might want to check out my Odyssey website... perhaps find a few ideas.
All the best to you!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
