bike dropping
Hi Friends,
This is my first login to HU
I’m Italian and I'm planning a motorcyle tour from Italy to Syria and maybe Lebanon via Greece and Turkey. It ‘s a tour that should require a lot of time and freedom spirit and more .. which goes at odds with my job. That’s why I came up with the idea of setting up a motorcycle entirely devoted to these kind of projects: something you can leave - if you are in need - somewhere for a while and afterwards get back to it and keep going when more time becomes available. Coming to the point I have already planned my first part (Greece and Turkey) which should end near Antalya and I need to know if there is a place there where I could drop the bike at least for a month or so. The place should also assure some basic mechanic maintenence during the down time to be ready for the next stage.
The real point is: can I do this in Countries outside EU like Turkey, Syria and Lebanon?
I nearly forgot to tell you that I ‘ve choosen a ‘93 Yamaha Super Tenéré which I restored to very good conditions and besides that my departure is set loosely by the mid of next September .
Every advise you would like to give me will be highly welcomed

If I have understood correctly, you are talking about a bike shop/mechanic with storage facilities.
I cannot think why you would not find these in the larger towns/cities along the way.
If in doubt, why not try the "HUBB Community" tab on the left side of the web-page and contact people in these countries for more information.
Enjoy your trip!

you can leave your bike in turkiye for six monts and have to pay a little for parking. you can also leave permanently to the costoms for free.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
