Helmet project - questionnaire
I think this is the most appropriate location to post this.
Hello, we are two bikers and graduate engineers from the University of Dundee
We are looking forward to create a new helmet design.
And we need your help to justify the design we have in mind and to confirm that your needs are the same as ours.
If you have a spare 10 minutes we would be very grateful if you can fill the questionnaire we have made here : http://goo.gl/forms/wB3KmP8Vj5
Just to clarify each of the questions has been carefully selected for one reason or another.
Certain questions are not mandatory as you might not want to disclose certain information. In any case you can stop your survey at any point if you feel like you don't want to continue. The last question in the survey is optional as well, so if you fill the questionnaire without submitting an e-mail address, there isn't anything linking your response to you. So there isn't anything there to stop you from completing the questionnaire multiple times if you can really be bothered doing that for the no particular reason than to mess with the statistics. In any case all the information provided by yourselves will remain confidential and will not be passed on to any third parties.
The questionnaire is there for the one and only purpose of providing us user statistics to help us build an appropriate business plan and show investors there is interest. Note that before talking to any third party involved in the project, they sign confidentiality agreements, hence why we're not able to disclose information about the project and why the questions are asked in such a manner as to give as little information as possible.
Once we've received enough responses we can post the statistics here if you wish to see what's important to other people. Your e-mails will not be shown.

IMO, some of your questions are flawed, poorly thought out and ... some make NO SENSE at all or totally miss the point.

As described above, each question has it's purpose. If it wasn't important or linking one answer to another then we wouldn't have put it in.
In any rate here are the promised answers :

Let me know if the link is broken, I'll upload to a different source.
(Note that the market research was done for the UK area and the majority of responses come from there)

Head shape........
Very Interesting to see the results so far. Do you have a reason for not asking which brand riders use?
I only ask because of the question of fit.......give you an idea of head shape figures.
Really looking forward to seeing the outcome.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
