Hi Maria,

The presentations are mostly in English, some in Portuguese, and there is usually a contingent of English speakers there. There will always be a translator too. Most of the Portuguese speak good English I found. Certainly worth dropping in if you're in the area, they put on a good fun event!

See you there!

Grant

Unhappy Stuck in San Sebastian ...!

So here I am, on my way to the meeting! Well sort of.....

Yesterday, a white heavy loaded motorbike overtook us after Bordeaux (yes you guess, it it was easy to recognise Grant and Susan!). It was nice to "meet " them on the road! However they gave me bad karma as my bike broke down soon after. We managed this morning to make our way to San Sebastian and I´m hoping to get it fixed by tonight! So here I am, with about 6 hours to kill before going back to the garage, in a bleak suburb, with pouring rain outside!
I´m still hoping to make it to Gois! I´ve been looking forward to it!

Thumbs up Very good!

It was a small gathering compare with the UK one. About maybe 30-40 people in total .... Few Brits turned up, and of course Susan & Grant!
Good point was that being small it was easier to talk to everyone, including Susan and Grant!
Antonio and the portugueses made a big effort to translate the presentations and generally they all spoke a very good english! Thank you guys for your efforts!
Food was very good, and cheap, compare with UK prices. The camp site was excellent! The saturday night BBQ was brilliant, and Thursday and Friday night, Antonio booked the local restaurants where we had a very good sample of the local food...

Ah, I also should mention: lots of twisty challenging roads around Gois!
Overall very good and definitely worth the trip!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
