I need HELP in Brazil!!!

Hi there,

My motorbike broke down again (KTM 1190) and this time it looks like I can't just fix it on the road. Water entered my cockpit and caused serious electronic problems.

Anyhow. My German dealer can organize a new cockpit. Installation will be Plug and Play. I just need to get it somehow to Brazil...

Since customs in Brasil is insane expensive I am searching for someone, that is maybe flying to Brasil soon.

I am in Campo Grande right now. Sao Paulo and Rio are kind of close. But once in the country shipping is save and easy as well.

Cheers Martin

I should be there in April, but thats not much use.....

As another option contact Andre at Mult Racing. They have alot of KTM experience and may be able to help. They're in São Paulo.

Usually water is not the problem .. once it drys out. And it has not carried any dirt/salt etc in.

Best thing to do? Wash it with clean water (gets rid of the salt/dirt/etc). Place in the sun to dry out. If your in a hurry methylated spirits (denatured alcohol) will mix with the water and evaporate faster. For things that are in boxes - open up the box as much as possible, clean and dry as above. Connectors are a problem in that they can contain water in there recesses .. again open them up.

The worst thing to do? Turn it on while it is wet... if you have done that already you may have blown something up. As you have little to lose, try drying it out.

To dry out faster put in in a bucket of white rice.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
