DogTag, I've been riding 30 years(never owned a car) most of that time in the UK where I'm from but with quite a few jaunts of up to 3 months riding in France,Germany etc.etc. In all those years never wearing any eyewear ( its not a law in the UK) unless its raining when I used to wear goggles and in later years a clip on face shield or if it was sunny (rare in the UK)when I may put sunglasses on. The same when I was on the continent. So I guess you could say we dont have a large insect population, at least by your standards as I reckon I can count on one hand the times I have been hit in the eye by a bee or similar. Still if I was to ever get a bike capable of running all day at high cruising speeds (90-100 mph) then I would wear a full face just incase. I'm currently in Florida where its compulsory as well as lights on etc. Still there are alot of bugs here.
