It seems that the top 5 are:-
Toilet roll
Headlight
Duck tape
Money/Cards
Cell phone (with charger obviously).
I'd like to add one if those folding/collapsable survival spades ( that can dig, chop, saw, cut, defend, open bottles, start fires) and which weigh less than 1kg and fold away to 20x15cm

In most of the countrys i would skip Toiletpaper for Sunlotion and just use water as in most of the countrys of the world. Also plastic cards should be skiped to US$ or zigarettes...those are more accepted to pay

Credit cards
Cellphone
Sunblock
One thick vest (or any winter coat like these; I'm not a fan of the cold)
Medicine kit
All else I buy during my stops so they won't be a hassle to bring.

My "don't leave home without it" list
My "unusual" items to pack:
- Camp chair with a backrest (Bulky but worth it)
- Pillow (For a good nights sleep and it also keeps the goodies in the topbox from bouncing around)
- Plastic tablecloth (When there's no table, it turns an upside down garbage bin into one)
- Bike cover (Best security system there is)

3. Bike with tools.
4. Mobile phone with SIM card and maps e.g.
5. First Aid Kit.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
