A post for would-be world travellers who are also pet owners :-
Do you have dreams and ambitions of travelling but conflicting emotions because your plans would involve re-homing or fostering your pets?
My hubby and I do and I can’t believe we’re alone in having this dilemma.
I am writing this post for two reasons, one totally selfish and one with a more long term, reciprocal goal in mind.
Hubby is a biker right down to his bones and wants nothing more than to travel, by bike, and see as much of this wonderful world of ours as possible.
I love to ride pillion and have an equal desire to travel BUT we have two dogs who are our family and we feel very keenly the responsibility and commitment we have to them.
We would like to take a year out to travel the world. With that in mind, we would like to find a loving foster home for our two dogs, either together or separately in two different foster homes. (Each dog was used to living as the only dog in the family before we all came together).
After a year of travelling we shall once again have a stable, family home with a garden.
And, this is where I get to the second part of my post. I love dogs and I love walking/hiking. I would be more than happy to make a reciprocal agreement with likeminded people/travellers and provide a foster home for pets while their human companions fulfil their travelling ambitions and dreams.

If there is anyone reading this post who feels they may be able to provide a loving foster home for one dog (or two) either as a stand alone gesture or in exchange for us doing likewise for their own dog(s) then I would love to hear from you.

(For the duration of fostering we would be happy to pay for all food, treats & vaccinations and would expect the same on a reciprocal agreement).

We are currently renting in Bulgaria. We would be willing to take the dogs anywhere in Europe, finding the right environment for them is our main priority.
