1st Time Overlander Morocco to Sth Africa, West Coast, from October 24th 2012
Hi, just a quickie to see if there's any folks out there doing this route towards the end of this year (2012).
I arrive in Tangiers on Wed 24th Oct and plan on riding down to Western Sahara, then Mauritania, through Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon and South, all the way to South Africa for New Year - Hopefully.
If there's anyone heading that direction it'd be great to hear from you, also if you've been that way recently, any updates on conflict situations, borders etc would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Bruce

Hello Bruce, although i will miss you (leaving spain too late) i would love to know how you have sorted the following:
1. medical insurance for countries on the foreign office 'no go' list (are you just keeping your fingers crossed?
2. Getting unleaded petrol in these areas - or are you 'cat free'? and sorted your bike electronics?
Anyway - i wish you luck, take care and enjoy it

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
