Main Dates: not set but I'm guessing five to six weeks from early July 2015 to mid August 2015
Vehicle: F800GS x 2 if we both end up doing this
Notes: Modman and I met up to ride Iceland in 2013.

Time is a big issue for us so now considering shipping too Ulaanbaatar arriving 15 June and back from Bishkek leaving 07 July giving three weeks to ride between the two. There's another shipment coming back 27 July as an option. €1500 shipping cost. Researching flights.

Leaving Ireland around the end of April/ 1st week May. Returning sometime in October.
Inbetween, heading Turkey, Georgia, Russia, Kaz, Kyrg, Tajikistan, Kyrg, Russia, Mongolia, Russia, Belarus, Poland, etc.
All very flexible, may be solo, maybe with herself. Will be avoiding the tourist trail at all times as always. The Pamir, Altai and Tuva are beckoning so I'll be doing a bit of 2 legged travelling as well. Other than that and visas I'll make it up as I go along.
Departure day will come when I have my Russian visa organised, I'll get home when I get there, but I can't stay away all winter.
It'll be 4 wheels though for me, in my 91 Toyota rust and all!

East out of Europe in 2015
Hi to all!
I'm new on the HUBB; and my first post...
But I've already noticed that there is a lot of expercience and fun to share here! Looking forward to all of it.
So here are the plans from The Netherlands:
Start / Finish: Netherlands - New Zealand
User: Lilian van der Wijngaart
Rout: Holland - Germany - Turkey - Georgia - Azerbedjan - Iran - Stans - Russia -Mongolia - China - Laos - Thailand - Malaysia - Indonesia - (Oz) - New Zealand. Then shipping the bikes back to Holland.
Main Dates: march 2015 - march 2016
Vehicle: Me Lilian riding a BMW F650gs (twin) and my husband Guido on a Triumph Tiger xc800
Notes: Looking for some company for the trip through China to share the costs. On motorbikes but 4x4/campers/etc not travelling on motorways will be fine.
Oz is a bit uncertain because by the time we are arriving in Darwin the Wet will be at the start and that is not a good moment......

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
