Anyone out there about to do Mongolia?

Unfortunately I have had to return to the UK part way through a RTW because I broke my leg. The plan is to collect the bike (in Almaty, Kazakhstan) and continue via Russia and Mongolia to Vladivostock. I suspect that it will be late July before I get back to the bike. Clearly it all depends on how well I heal. Anyone out there likely to be in the Kazakhstan/Russia/Mongolia area at that time?

I'm about to cross into Georgia from Turkey as of July 3rd... I have the same route as you do. You can check my progress from here...

Hope you heal fast and we can get to ride together.

What a bummer. Had a broken ankle a year ago took 5 weeks to heal and 7 weeks to being back on the bike.
Hope to be in Kazakhstan late August heading for Kyrgystan

Hello from Paris,

Broke my leg last october 50 km from Beyneu on my way to Nukus.
Bike still there. Will be in Kz in august to sort out the next stage.
Let's keep in touch to see how it goes.
Hope your leg is healing faster than mine.
Enjoy the wild east.

Checking in from Almaty

I'm currently in Almaty. I'll start moving north to Ust-Kamenegorsk, hoping to be in Barnaul in less than a week and at the Mongolian border in about 10 days.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
