Planning on crossing Tecate into Mexico on the 13th of November. Final destination will be 70 miles north of Guadalajara, visiting a buddy for couple of days and back up taking routes in mainland Mexico, re-enter US at Nogales.
First leg will be riding down Baja California to La Paz, via Ensenada, San Felipe, Bahia de Los Angeles, Coco's Corner (22 miles of dirt road...uuugghhhh
), Guerrero Negro and Loreto
. In La Paz take the ferry to Mazatlan, then ride to Guadalajara and arrive in Nochistlan de Mejia. Have not committed to the routes back as of yet, but for sure planning on taking the
"El Espinazo del Diablo" (between Mazatlan and El Salto)
allegedly the nicest roads in North America and ride on the highest bridge in the world the
Baluarte Bridge. Also would like to do the canyons on highway 16 towards Hermosillo, read somewhere it's heaven on the 16. Open to suggestions and feedback.
This is my first ride in Mexico so I'm a total noob to all of this. Been, however, soaking up lots of info on FB and on here. As of today, the fear of riding in MX has subsided drastically
and I am actually pretty stoked about the ride. Ideally, I would be riding with at least one other person. Of course, the more the merrier. Hoping to be able to find riding buddies who will accompany me fully or partially on this ride.
I am riding a K1200GT.
