Bike rental in Argentina-Seeking your thoughts
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am in the process of evaluating setting up a motorcycle rental business in El Bolson, Rio Negro, Argentina. The nearest big city and airport is San Carlos de Bariloche, about 125 kms. north.
I would be very grateful to know what you as a bike rider expect from a rental company; from type of bike to equipment you will need for your tour.
Starting off by the bikes available in this country; I have been looking at the BMW 650 GS & Dakar, as well as the Honda Transalp. The problem with BMW is the lack of dealers and support; there are none in Patagonia. On the other hand Honda have dealers and support in all provinces. Do you think the Transalp is a good bike for long gravel roads?
Personal equipment; would you bring your own helmet/riding clothes/boots/gloves?
Would you like to be provided with full camping equipment? Fishing gear?
Would you prefer a guided tour, obviously more expensive, or advice to make up your own itinerary?
As you can see there are several things for which I am seeking your views in order to make this venture a success. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
George Simson
