Brazil to Columbia Via Surinames April 13

Hi I'm Hugo

Just finished a trip from Santiago to Ushuia and back to Santiago in January,
on a KLR 650 with some friends who have had to return due to work ( poor Bastards ).
I still have the hunger to continue my travels.

So from the Horizons Unlimited Travellers Mini-Meeting
Friday Mar 29 - Sunday Mar 31, 2013 - Iguassu, Brazil
Bikers Help Desk
I will be buying a bike in Paraguay.

I will be looking at starting this trip
From Brazil, Iguassu through to northern Brazil and onto
French Guiana to Suriname and Guyana, Brazil, Venezuela
to finish in Columbia by around June or even July.
basiclly following this route
South America Overland Tour | Complete Circuit | Rio to Rio

I am casual traveler stopping to see a bit and live a little more
and always ready for a or 2
Plus will need to wait for the wet season to leave the North of South America.

Happy travels

Travelling through South America

Hi Hugo

I am planning a trip by Landcruiser round South America next year (via Canada/US) and interested to know of any problem araes/borders/ countries etc in South America as we would like to visit all of them.

We (my wife Chris and I) went to Mongolia via Siberia and back via the Stans in 2011 and whilst we had all of the normal border/police hassles we never once fealt threatened in anyway. This trip took us 7 months but we will not have a planned end date for the next trip.

Unfortunatley a bit late to hook up, but am interested to here from anyone who has recent first hand experience of the area.

Hi Chris and I
It is a big undertaking
But if paperwork is in order it should be no problem

Hugo- We're on the road doing roughly the same route. We're currently in Natal and slowly moving up towards Belem, where we'll start looking at ferrys. We move slow, but let us know when you are in the area...

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
