South America Trip
Hi,
That sounds awesome, i think i may have posted on an earlier post by bart that I also have very similar intentions. Planning on leaving from santiago not buenos aires at this stage but not set in concrete... maybe we could meet somewhere? Would be really keen to travel at least part of the trip with others if either of you are interested.
Let me know by private message if you are keen to catch up for a bit.

Howdy.
Hey everyone, I'm an American gonna be buying a DR650 in BA around 25ish Jan. 2011 and headed south to Patagonia end of Jan.
From the South I'm headed back up North all the way to the States. Lemme know if anyone is in BA around this time. Take care!

Joe, I have been down there twice. Argentina will not let extranjeros (non Argentines) take vehicles purchased in AR, OUT of AR.
Buy in Chile, and you are free to cross back and forth, but for limited amounts of time. 6 months per year, if you intend to ever take it back....

Hey Crogromphulous,
Sorry should have been more specific. I'm buying a US registered bike. Yeah, don't want to deal with the paperwork to buy an Argentinian bike. Thanks for the tip though.

BoRed,
Have been to Cuzco 9 times (most recently June-Aug 2010). Can give you lots of hints. Did you know that you can rent or buy a bike in Cuzco (you would have to bring it back to Peru tho).
Cheers, Toby

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
