Central and South America in 2015...Who's in?
Hey guys!
I am planning a trip from the United States through central and South America for 2015. I am hoping to be on the road for about 4-5 months and I have plenty of ideas, but I’m open to any suggestions as far as the exact route. I live in Michigan and will be riding south from there.
I will be on my trusty 2005 DL650 Vstrom, already geared up for the trip. I have done a few Iron butts but my goal for this trip is to take in the surroundings and experience the culture and food at a comfortable pace. I am quite adventurous and currently re-learning Spanish (Hablo un poco de espanol). As far as lodging, I usually go with a combination of hostels, camping, and couchsurfing but I am up for anything.
If anyone is planning a similar trip or foresees their route intersecting with mine, let me know! I would love to have some company. I would like to start the planning way ahead of time if possible.
Hope to hear from some of you guys soon.
-Chris

HI
Are you talking about 21st NOV 2014 or 2015 ?
I am arriving on 19AUG in Halifax, cross teh continent quickly to be in Faibanks beginning of September and be back from Deadhorse in Faibanks befroe end of September, heading south to Ushuaia.... so if its 2014 we could meet somewhere.
Please advice, your route and approx. timing.

We are heading that way as well. We are on two KLR650's.
We are currently in Radisson PQ. Working our way to Nova Scotia, then towards the HU meeting in NC.
Our email is nawt650@gmail.com the face book page is No Agenda World Tour.
Maybe see you on the road and possibly share a campfire, or a beverage of choice.
Cheers

Hey Roland
We will have passed that area by then. Headed to Boston Mass. Then onto the HU Meeting in North Carolina. Maybe see you on the road.

2014. Probably leave South Texas (Kingsville) first week in November, not on a weekend. Head to Tampico, Veracruz and then Palenque. Spend a day or two in Palenque.
Deadhorse in September can be interesting.

Hi !
I thought this forum send me a short email everytime someone comments where I have commented ...
How can that be activated?
Back to the topic:
Yes, i am starting 20AUG from Halifax, will need to hurry a little to be back from Alaska before winter approaches. Will head west fast, so taht I am not at HU in NC and will be late to join HU in Alberta. And also late for HU in California.
My website is under prep. Meanwhile you can find me on facebook at Roland Traub.
If there is somebody willing to join dalton HWY still this season ... I expect to be in Fairbanks by 5 Sept.

4 or 5 months? you could spend all that time in Central America and not see a fraction of what there is to see.

New York->Texas->CA->SA-Feb/March 2015
Hi Chris,
I'm starting trip from New York to Buenos Aires around mid to late Feb 2015. Giving myself 5/6 months overall with maybe 1.5-2 months in CA. If the dates match up to yours let me know, would love some company especially at the initial stages.
Will be on a KLR650 hopefully.
Cheers,
Brendan
