Hook
We should be in Ulaan Baator about August 1st and right now plan to travel west thru Mongolia and then on to Moscow. If you are in UB about that time, look for a Mad Max version of a Chang Jiang. We can at least hook upo for a and some lies.

Hi there!
Hej Dave!
Really funny to hear Im not the only traveler on this side on earth. But my plan is to avoid mongolia, when there is no good roads there. Especilly when you are rideing a cj without front suspension. I will ride from china into Kazakhstan and then russia. But maybe we can meet in russia? My russian visa is from 15 june till 15 july. It would ve really nice with some company.

Hi Jack & Janet.
My cj is under construktion at the same place as yours, or was it some girl friend of yours? I think your journey is the coolest ever. Unfortunally I will be ahead of you(I hope), but if I get stuck you can come and save me! ;-) Do you live in bejing? Maybe you are up for a lunch or a or something?

Wont be in Mongolia until late July
I recently talked to two guys that have ridden Mongolia and both give conflicting reports about riding west from UB to Russia. What I think I'll do is ride to UB and then decide which way to go based on the road conditions encountered.
The truth is I want to go west but have another BMW powered CJ going with us and have to take them and their abilities into consideration. If it were just me and the wife, we would definitely go west.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
