China/Karakoram Highway late Sept. 2014
Hi,
This is our first, and hopefully not the last post on Horizons Unlimited.
My wife Anne and I (Anthony), are in the process of planning a motorcycle trip this year (2014) from Europe to Australia that will go via China and the Karakoram Highway into Pakistan. Like others planning similar trips we would like to share the costs of the Chinese sector if possible. We expect to leave UK/France in mid June this year and travel via Iran, which we plan to enter towards the end of July. Up to a month in Iran and and then travel along part of the silk route. Based on these timings, our initial plans would have us reach the Chinese border with Kyrgyzstan late September or early October. We would be interested in hearing from anyone who has plans whose timing is similar to ours. We would consider travelling via Tibet to Nepal if your plans took you in that direction.
Regards
Anne & Anthony

KKH Sept 2014
Joe and Heather,
Good to hear from you, yes interested in talking further on sharing costs and the possible timing thru China. From what I have seen later in September is still OK even as late as early November, weather permitting.
Noted that your location is close to were we will be week after next, possibly we could get together Monday 24th of March.
Regards
Anne & Anthony

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
