Colorado & Rockies anyone - summer of 2015
I am in planning stages for trip out to Colorado, Wyoming and Rockies in summer of 2015. Timeline is mid June through mid July.
I am planning to trailer my BMW F650GS Twin from Virginia to Denver, Colorado area. The other option is to ship the bike. But, shipping is pricy. I would categorize myself as a M/55 year old intermediate rider.
I am looking to explore the some of the easier rated dirt roads and country roads. Possibly some of the easier section of the Continental Divide Trail (CDR). I'd love to do the CDR from north to south someday when I have more time. However, I decided to use this first trip as kind of an exploratory trip,
Tentative plan is a 2,500 to 3,000 loop from CO, to Yellowstone / Grand Tetons in Wyoming, possibly easter part of Utah, and Idaho. 3 weeks and looping back to my car at some U-Haul dealer.
Let me know if you're interested and / or traveling through the same region. Also if you have any knowledge of transporting a bike cheap via U-Haul, utility trailer, other, shoot me an email. Thanks.

I'm heading to southern Co on June 2 if you want to ride out with me, doing the four corners ride. Could meet you in WV or KY.

There is a small BMW rally in Paonia, CO. July 16 - 19.
The next week July 22 - 26 there is the largest BMW rally in the USA in Billings, MT. We are going to both with 4 days of touring around Montana and Wyoming in between.

Colorado riding
Hi all,
I live in Taos, NM (northern New Mexico) and plan to do some riding in Colorado and possibly beyond this summer too in preparation for a trip to South America in October. (DR650) I may be able to join up with you for portions of your trip. My brother in-law in Colorado Springs has a KLR650 and may also be able to join up for a short time. If you send an itinerary of where you would like to go or if you want suggestions perhaps we can work something out and hook up with you.

Contact when you get close. I can probably offer a bed or couch in Taos and ride with you for a day or two as well as suggesting routes.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
