Companion welcome-Germany to Georgia/Armenia August/September 2014
Hello All,
I'm planing a trip around the Black Sea (or just to Georgia via Turkey in case the riots in Ukraine are getting worse). I'm alone riding a Varadero. If anyone want's to join the trip or it's part I'll be more than happy.
There's no fixed dates nor routes yet but I'm limited with holidays 3-4 weeks max.
I'll in German HUB meeting end of May so there's a chance to meet and have a chat about.

Hey Fred,
hope you´ll find some company.
If I had time this year I would like to accompany you, unfortunatly I planned all my holidays (2 weeks HUBB UK and 3 weeks Canada).
But next year, oh I now long time in future, I thinking of riding in that direction with my little KTM 990 Adv.
So maybe let us discuss something big for next year?
Tabbi

Hi Guys,
Tabbi- 2015 is still open card for me and definitely I will think about some next trip. As they say "I haven't been everywhere but it's on my list"
And actually we're so close that could meet for a coffee somewhere here. I live in Lower Saxony near Bremen so give me a shout when you're going for a weekend ride sometime. BTW are you in Germany HUB meeting on 29th?
Tim- thanks for letting me now about your plan. I read through your thread and it seems possible that we could meet somewhere on the way. I really want do a loop around Black Sea so will be waiting to the "last moment" to see what's going on in Ukraine. My plan now is to apply for Russian visa in July regardless of the situation and then start in the last week of August. If it will be calm there, I go to Crimea and Caucasus first ending up in Turkey around 8-10th of September. If I have to give up Ukraine than will be on the way to Istanbul earlier, around 25th August.
I travelled on motorcycle pretty much all Balkan countries (including some which didn't exist yet at the time like Kosovo) and would recommend it to cross through instead of taking the boat from Italy. There is plenty of a must see places so it's worth to consider more time on the way to Istanbul.
I'll follow your thread and we can touch base closer to the time.

I had also looked at a black sea loop but save that for another day. Will be going cross country and not via Italy and boat. Just need to make up my mind which way. Did Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia last year and it was great. So may go Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria. But the Croatia coast road is very tempting again

Tim, maybe you should try Romania this time? The Transfogarian road and Transalpina are absolutely stunning and almost on your way.

Hi Guys,
It would be great to meet on the way. As situation in Ukraine is dynamic I'll be probably waiting to the very last moment with decision which way to take.
Peter, if things there will get worse I take the same way as you starting last week of August or first week of September. Then we definitely could do at least part of the trip together.
Achim, thanks for sharing the pictures
I'll try to contact you later when hopefully I have more clarity on route and timings.
Cheers
Fred
