Hi folks:
My name is
David Parkinson, and I'm 28, and I'm headed to Argentina starting August 15th from here in Medellin, Colombia. I'm chilling out in Medellin working on my software company before I head farther south. I've been on the road since August 24th, 2011 from Seattle and have already enjoyed Mexico and all the Central American countries.
I would definitely like to meet up with people for the Mexico / Latin America / remote parts of South America and potentially a travel mate for the next leg of my trip.
I'm looking to do adventure on and off the bike: surfing, kite surfing, trekking, cooking classes, learning tango, mountain climbing, etc. I definitely want to do some mountain climbing in Ecuador and some trekking in Patagonia.
I have been stealth camping, hostelling, couchsurfing, and occasionally staying at hotels.
I have a '05 V-Strom 650 named Rosie that is all geared up and ready to go
I'm pretty close to fluent in Spanish though I'm still working on that. I also have decent camping/mountaineering/outdoors skills.
My rough time line is to arrive in Ushuaia by November or December or at latest January... I definitely don't want to blow through countries, but I want to arrive during the "summer" months of further south.
If meeting up or potentially travelling together sounds interesting, give me a shout! I know the road here south is a bit more remote than what I've seen before, so I'd definitely appreciate having a travel companion.
Best,
David
