Crossing China: Kyrgyzstan to Mongolia September 2014
After much changes of plan we are now fixed on crossing China from Kyrgyzstan to Mongolia in September. The plan is to enter China toward the end of August (provisional date 28th) and exit to Mongolia 33 days later. We will be travelling from the UK with a 4x4 camper and have arranged to join with another couple for the China part.
We are in the final stages of agreeing the route and costings with the tour company NAVO. If anyone wants join with us, in a camper, or 4x4, to help share the cost of the guide, we would love to have you along!
We must agree the final details within the next month or so - so if you are interested, make contact now!
Andy

I andy
it's a bit late for me, but I need to explore every possibilities.
What will be the cost for such a trip across China if I join your group, and what will be the itinerary ?
cheers,

Hi JB,
The quote for a group of 2 vehicles + 4 drivers is CNY 62,150/group. This is for 33 days in China crossing from Torugart Pass to Erenhot. Additional vehicles would bring the cost per vehicle down, not sure by how much.
What vehicle do you have?
Provisional itinerary (subject to change) is:
Torugart Pass
Kashgar
Yecheng
Hetian (Hotan)
Mingfeng
Tazhong
Luntai
Korla
Yanqi
Hoxud
Toksum
Jiahe Ruins
Turpan
Gaochang Ruins
Shanshan
Hami
Liuyuan
Dunghang
Mogoa Caves
Yueyaquan Sand Dunes
Guazhou
Jiayuguan
Zhangye
Minle
Huangzhong Monastery
Lanzhou
Yuzhong
Dingxi
Pingliang
Binxian
Xian (city and warriors)
Hancheng
Ximxiang
Linfen
Pingyao
Taiyuan
Yingxian
Hunyuan
Datong
Yungang Grottoes
Badalin Great Wall
Tianjin Harbor (Bo Hai Bay)
Beijing (2 days)
Ulanqab
Erenhot
Cheers, Andy

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
