Crossing from Texas into Mexico, November 23-25 anyone ?
I am not sure where I am going but I won't be lost. Have Zumo will travel, may be crossing at Persidio, Texas if i decide to go to Copper Canyon and out thru Durango to baja ferry. The last time I crossed the border into Mexico like this not knowing I guess I was on my way to TDF. I know Guatamala is nice the first of December, and I sure enjoyed it there. I'm on a 2006 r1200gsa, and could meet just about anywhere within days of crossing. Anyone ?

I am leaving Seattle on 14 Nov and should be crossing into Mexico from Nogales AZ about the 17th, headed to the Canyons for a week. Looking for a partner to tour that area. Have to be back in Seattle on 30 Nov, but no other fixed plans.

Time
Well, I am unable to get in the saddle till Nov 23, I will be around Harlingen ,Texas(NOV 22).It would be at least Nov 26 before I could get to Copper Canyon. I sometimes ride and storage my bike in Mexico and have done so in Costa Rica and Argentina ,kind of makes the trip go on. Anyways your ahead of me a week ,let me know what your up too. If your dates change or if you decide to fly home from Puerto Vallarta. I have 23 days before I need to be in La Paz,Baja (Dec 13).I may be getting there by air or sea.I may even end up Flying back from Guatamala or Belize. I am planning a second ride for 3 weeks from Jan 14 from wherever my bike happens to be.

Hi. I´ve been there, in Presidio, Texas. Nice place around Big Bend. If you go there and ride BMW ask about Beemerchef and Paul and Bony Glaves. They are living in the area and they are BMW Moa members. In Calgary the guy who could tell you more about Baja is Dave Anderwerk.

Flying back
I've been considering taking the Airhead GS and leaving it and flying back. Where do you have storage? I have a friend in Panama I could leave the bike with, but I don't want to try to make it there in two week.

Storage
Right now bikes at a friends in Texas. If you want storage in either la paz or san jose del cabo both near airports with an almost free ride to and from. La Paz RV and mini storage or Los cabos mini storage between san jose del cabo and airport.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
