hello
i (and probably one other) will be keen to join any travellers doing the aswan-wadi haifa ferry, but probably only in about 2 - 3 weeks from now (today being october 1st). if there is a truck going to khartoum thereafter, so much the better! if anyone is interested or has more information, please contact me at my email address.
thanks
cabron

Good news. The company which now runs the cargo ferry to Wadi Halfa and return have started towing the barge behind the passenger ferry. First one today (07/10/02). As such, the trip will take just over one day. Cost is approx 120EP for rider/passenger and 150EP for the bike. Seems the old 'charter the whole boat' has gone. Best to check with the booking guys. Can't remember who they are off hand, but most Lonely Planet type books and overland books will have it listed.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
