Entering China around the 10-20 Aug from Mongolia
Hi im entering Russia on 11 July and on to Mongolia and China.Im riding 2up on a honda dommie.
With China being difficult, I am planning to hire a truck to take the bike acoss the border, and anyone else going that way will be most welcome. The bike will be my luggage and i hope to ride again once in China and then again look at hiring a truck to take the bike out of China or if possible just ride it out. Entering China around the 10-20 Aug.
I remember Greg who rode an enfield from India to UK. He didnt have a carnet for Pakistan, but the Pakistanis allowed him to take the bike provided he put it on a train. Unfortunately he was escorted all the way across Pakistan, by a policeman as his pillion.
Im leaving Swiss next week and will be available on mobile for text messages only. +41792583859
Cheers
Dalbir

Hi Dalbir - I was in Ulan about a month ago, but proceeded on through Zilof Gap to Vlad and then via the Dung Chung ferry to S Korea. I can report that all the road bridges are now in but its still a very rough road - best of luck with China.
Sorry we didn't meet in Cork that day! Back home now in Wx.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
