Europe to South Africa (west coast)

Hi

I'm in Europe at the moment. Heading to Morocco via Italy, France and Spain. Anybody interested in joining me from Morocco to South Africa or parts of it?...... company for the Europe part would also be good

Planning to leave Morocco around June/July but totally flexible. I'm on a KLR

Cheers

Hi Damien
It’ll be great to meet up with you in Morocco. From a time point of view, July can work for me, or I can make it work. That will give me time to tour other parts of Europe and Morocco. However, I yet have to do any planning for the West Africa part (I guess I should start). The three most nagging questions for me are:
1) When are the rainy seasons
2) Which countries must be avoided for safety reasons
3) Carnet requirements (I don’t have one)
I noticed your route includes the Ivory Coast. Seems like a bad idea for now. Sorry for criticizing rather than offer suggestions. I’ll get onto the planning part soon.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Cheers for now, Neville

ya ivory coast is a wait and see type of thing. i can arrange an ivitation letter if needed and i know a guy here that is updating me weekly on what is going on there.
iv seen a lot of negitivity about senegal so i might avoid that as of now, not too sure, just to give you a heads up im not a man for overplanning.
let me know what you think,
damien

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
