Spain via Ireland

Hi David,
I'm heading for Spain via Ireland in July with two others.
You are welcome to join us on some or all of our trip.
We mostly camp but if it we use cheap hotels.

A bit more detail would be helpful.
Where in UK are you?
What bike are you planning to ride?
When do you want to go?

A mate of mine is doing a trip in June with 2 others.
Plymouth - Santander ferry then up through France to visit the cemetarys etc. on the way back to Calais.
I know there will be a Buell Ulysees and a BMW GS1200 not sure what the other bike will be.

I spend quite a bit time riding around Europe.. usually 2, perhaps 3 trips a year.

Now I have the time, this will hopefully increase (if not the number of trips, certainly the time taken to do the trips)

The next one is at the end of May, a 3 week bimble from the UK to France, Italy, Greece, Romania, Germany, France, UK (and a few countries we may fall into on the way). I'm doing it with some chaps from the HUBB.

Get in touch (PM) if you want to discuss future travels further.

Hello David;
I'm a member of the International Motorcyclists Tour Club, probably the oldest club in the world dedicated to foreign travel by motorcycle (founded 1932). The club members organise tours of, mainly, Europe for other members to participate in. As a first timer, who wants a bit of company you may be interested in the club. We have a web-site (IMTC.org - International Motorcyclists Tour Club) and would love to hear from you.
P.S. I'll make it very clear, we are a CLUB not a profit making organisation.

Well I don't drive a bike but....I just posted this to my international travelers organization so if anyone is looking for passenger in Spain or nearby.... I will be arriving to Madrid on July 15 and have 2 months of discovering before returning to the USA and then back to Argentina.

Panda está buscando algunos paseos en España
Female Passenger is looking for some moto rides in Spain.

ingles y castellano....pardon my Spanish but I do try - jaaaa

I lived a dream in February - over 5000km from Buenos Aires to the Bolivian border and back on a HONDA FALCON 400. It awakened my spirit. Now I am fully AWAKE and am coming to Spain for the summer on foot - without a plan and without a motorcycle.

I am looking for motorcyclists driving through to share a piece of their journey or locals willing to take an afternoon or day to show me the places where their spirit lives.

I am a great passenger - I am patient and flexible and I smile a lot. Rain, Fog, Heat, Cold. Wind - all ok.

PS PANDA is like the bear. It is the term used for a passenger.

***********

(really - I got pinned under the 400 on route 40 in the mud and didn't even get mad - limped for days but hey things happen.)

thanks for reading !!!!
I am so excited to be visiting Spain soon and am looking forward to eating seafood (we don't have it here in Buenos Aires. I am a native Massachusetts yanqui and I miss fish.)

BESOS !

Patt.

Lots of us in Europe!

I'm heading out of London on the 5th June (can't leave earlier due to my notice period at work otherwise I'd try to coordinate with Steve), trying to do a two month loop down to Istanbul, Jordan, Egypt, ferry back to Greece and onwards to the UK.

David (and everyone) you're very welcome to join for all or part of that trip! I'm 26 and want to do the ride on my zzr600 before I get chained to my desk in the City come August. I figure that route, riding every other day, or only a few hours every day, should take two months.

Taking bike to Europe

Great to hear you're doing it David. Tourider's club sounds like a good idea, but if you're happy in your own company I'd say don't shy away from headin' off on your own. You could make contact with Hubbers with somewhat similar plans before you go, dip into the HUBB on your route and cross paths with different people as you go. You have to have posted five posts before you can send someone a private message, but you can usually email - or there's plenty of interesting stuff to post about to get up to the five. I find that there are not nearly as many internet cafes as there were a few years ago but libraries usually have access. Loads of advice and info on this site. Best of luck.
Brian

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
