France Now!!
and it's not me, but I've received an SOS from a friend, who has limited internet access
She is travelling on her bike with sidecar and cute dog, she's been let down by her co-traveller and is now on the look out for anyone else to hook up with, even if only for a couple of days.
She's a Brit and is currently in France, somewhere near Lyon...
anyone out there, on the road and happy to meet up with her?? I can vouch for her as an easy-going, easy to travel with person

Hi,
Not sure if this is any help or not- but the first question is, is she en route for anywhere in particular or just travelling in France needing some connections/ places to stay/ people to meet. I am quite happy to put up a post on our website ( Bike Club France • Portal) to see if anyone is in the area who could connect ( we have over 1300 English speaking members in France). If you think this could be of any help send me a PM with a phone number and I will contact you direct.

Bonjour Bertrand, don't scratch too much or you'll have no hair left!!
I don't think anyone has used the word emergency and I'm not sure I would apply it to this situation.
Basically it's someone who partway into a trip is now being abandoned by her travel companion who has to return to the UK unexpectedly. She's a woman on her own, and is hoping there might be others in the area who want to travel with her for a while, or maybe longer. she's an experienced traveller but has never been on her own before.
you may be interested to hear that my first bit of advice was to get a large glass of wine and drink it!!
hopefully that clarifies things, and yes, as soon as I know WHERE she is heading I will let you all know!
PS I still have your socks Bertrand - they have achieved legendary status with my sisters.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
