as we have not found any threads about travellers seeking travellers for a guide share to above mentioned places, we highly appreciate your reply if your willing to join us on the following routes and to share a guide in 2015:
Kyrgyzstan - Tibet - China - Laos
We have already found out a perfect route which suits as well but are open for your suggestions or experiences.
To make it easier for all of us please just copy and fill out the following information:

Which route:
When:
How many people:
What kind of vehicle:
How many days you like to spend:
Recently we sent out some requests to all well known agencies. We are aiming to fix the route and the number of travellers till the end of february, hopefully. By the way, we are a couple from germany, both 33 y., and leaving our city in april heading east. We do have some travel experiences and run a Mitsubishi L300.
If there's anything you need to know or you are unsure about please just send us an email or post it here. Do not hesitate we will answer to every message because we do have some unanswered questions as well :-)
Cheers Sarah and Thomas

Hello Sarah and Thomas,
Nice to meet you. I worked for a China adventure tour company who focus on driving/riding tour in China. Hope I can help.
The route you plan:
Route 1: Kyrgyzstan - Tibet - Nepal
Route 2: Kyrgyzstan - Tibet - China - Laos
are both popular for driver/riders from all the world. And it's worth to go of spectacular landscape and exotic native culture. But you'd better to have a final decision on route or the organizer will be complicated as the different areas will cost differently.
Generally speaking, Xinjiang and Tibet are the most expensive areas in China. So for the two routes, the part of Kyrgyzstan - Tibet will be the similar, and for route 2, you will extend longer one and will cost more than Route 1 in total.
Anyway, for China part, you need a professional local tour operator to help. Actually some users contacted with China NAVO Tour already. I'm not sure if you find a suitable tour company, we are always here for service.
For more details, if you need, welcome to contact us: abby.zhang@navo-tour.com.
Wish you have a great year of 2015!
Abby~

Hi Martin,
thanks for your reply.
Fortunately we received, despite of the post in the hubb, some emails from other interested travellers and we all tend to cross from KYZ through tibet, china into Laos in September. Nothing has been fixed yet and be sure we are pleased to put you in the line as well.
Does the mentioned CHN/ LAO crossing sounds interesting for you too?
How do you want to proceed in case we would drive out of tibet into nepal?
Cheers
Thomas and Sarah

another vehicle
hello Thomas and Sarah
thought I had already sent you guys a 'PM' but now can't find any trace of it and so posting here instead.
Angie and myself have been long term travelling in our 4x4 iveco since 2006.
We are very keen to enter NEPAL for a coupe of months trekking hopefully later this year, we also are VERY keen to cross MYANMAR.
We have dismissed the PAKistan and so hoping for
IRAN > TURKMEN > TAJIK > KRYG > CHINA > NEPAL
some flexibilty with dates but thinking of entering CHINA end of august.
Thinking 25 or 30 days.
We have had some prices quoted but feel better to not post detail publicly.
If we can collate 4 vehicles then i think realistic price per vehicle for 25 days could be less than US$ 3500 (5 vehicles could make it less than 2000)
I am sure we are all against large group travelling but china is soooo expensive if not in a group.
please email us.
let's get talking !

Hello Phil & Angie
We are on the same project (better september for us). What agency seems better for you ? One is cheaper than others (Greatway). Do you know it ?
Cheers

Ok. Just read now you edited your first post, Thomas and Sarah :
"Reason: Route Kyrgistan - Tibet - Nepal delayed"
So good luck for your trip !
(and thank you, Sarah, for your informed advices. You are very right : we need to stay relax and have time enough to stay on the Tibetan plateau above 5000 m for many days ! )

sorted ?
LSM31 - hi, no I do not have quote from or any information on 'GREATWAY', please send a pm or direct email to me with the details, i'll then email you back with what we have.
Lisa_Ann - no, not completely sorted, i assume you are interested, how many vehicles have you (you mentioned elsewhere possibly two) ? Have you had any quotes yet ? Are you 'fixed' on your route ? we prefer idea of TIBET then NEPAL.
All -- for angie and myself a route through china now is only possible if the cost for 2 people and vehicle is less than $US3500. I think this is only possible for a 25 (30 ?) day trip if 4 vehicles travel together.
We are also looking at alternative routes and options.
Phil.
