International bikers x-mas party in Ushuaia?
Anyone hear of an international bikers x-mas party in Ushuaia? I heard rumors of one or read about it at 4 in the morning sometime. Pretty sketchy in my memory.
So, I'll be in Ushuaia for Christmas, anyone else?

The end of the year at the end of the world
Every year there is a gathering of motorcycle-travelers in usuaia. Usualy at camp-site Rio-Pipo.
It starts on cristmas eve and lastst well into the new year.
There is no beter place to end the year, then the end of the world.

We're planning to spend Xmas this year in Ushuaia!
Trip will start from Colombia in May, where we will be flying from the UK, then all the way down, via Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brasil and Argentina! Hoping to make it to Viedma meeting this year as well!
See you in UShuaia!!!!!!

Alright Maria! It sounds like you'll be taking quite a bit of time along the way- more than twice the time I have planned and half the distance!
What is the Viedma meeting? Something I should know?
Anyhow, I'll keep an eye out for you Brits.

a place you should go.
The Viedma-meeting is a place you simply should not miss.
It's in the beginning of december, in/near the town of Viedma (Argentina, on the coast 1000 km south of BA) and it is GOOD !
From there you can ride in groups to Ushuaia for Xmas.

As Maarten says, HU Viedma isn't to be missed. Oscar Knecht and his family and friends are wonderful hosts and the meeting's a nice size to get to know everyone a little.
Regards, Mick

Viedma
We're definitely planning to go to the meet in Viedma in December.
Lost, we'll be indeed taking our time! Many places we want to visit and things to do. Route roughtly will be starting in Colombia (from mid-May) , Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, then across Brazil (we'll spend some time there) and then south toward Buenos Aires and Ushuaia for end of the year . Keep in touch!
See you on the road!

Christmas in Ushuaia
I (Duane) my wife (Corinne) and a buddy (John) will be in Ushuaia from December 23rd thru 26th 2007 and eagerly look forward to meeting a group of HU riders for some fun, food and comeraderie. We are starting in Lima November 13th or so all of us riding F650GS,s and mosying south with no fixed route towards Ushuaia. There are a few places we must see on our way down to Ushuaia but we have no real plan other than to get there!
After Ushuaia we head back up to Buenos Aires to depart for home .
We are tentatively staing at the Albatross Hotel. Give us a call and let us know what's up!

Christmas In Ushuaia
Valkrider:
We will be ahead of you. My wife Robin and I (Mike) fly to Lima on Oct. 23rd and will ride south to Ushuaia. We have tickets home from Buenos Aires on Dec. 24 so we will probably not spend Christmas there. We are going to leave Lima and head up into the Mts. and arrive in Cusco. Spend some time there and then head sout into Boliva. Across the Salar de Uyuni and into San Pedro de Atacama in Chile. Over the Paso de Jama and into Salta and then south on route 40 to Mendosa, San Carlos de Bariloche etc. We then want to cross over the mts. into Chile to ride the Carretera Austral road. Back into Argentina to visit Glacier Nat. Park (FitzRoy) and Perito Moreno Glacier. Then over into Chile again to visit Torres del Painer Nat. Park before we head south to Ushuaia. We probably will be to far in front of you but will keep and eye out.

Yes, it sounds like you will be ahead of us for the entire route. Having said that, let's keep in touch in case our paths may cross. Meeting other travellers on the road is a wonderful thing!

Just showing up doesn't make it a party. There's the tree to trim, cookies to bake, gifts to wrap, invitations to mail out...
Hey, I'll bring a bottle of Pisco....got one in my bags somewhere....

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
