kyrgyzstan to Pakistan August-September 2013
As I have mentioned in other posts I am hoping to travel to Central Asia this summer with thoughts of getting to India next autumn. I have looked into flying myself and bike from Central Asia to Kathmandu but had hoped to meet others travelling from Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan over the KKH whilst en route, but have recently been told all members of a guided party have to be booked in weeks in advance so am asking if anybody else is planning this and are looking for another to share the cost.
I had hope to do the crossing mid August to end September, later would be fine, weather permitting but much sooner would too early for me.
Is anybody else looking into this?

We are planning to cross China next August
Hi Mark.
My boyfriend and I are going in May with the bike from Spain, and we plan to get to Kyrgyzstan in August with the intention of crossing China to Pakistána mid-month, around Aug. 20.
We love to get together with other people to share costs and make it more bearable.
We have already contact with an agency of Kyrgyzstan: Kashgar Adventure International, if you want we keep in touch.
Regards!

I am still hoping to go that way, but possibly leaving my bike in Kyrgyzstan and backpacking, hitching a lift or cycling to Pakistan and on to India for the winter. Apart from not having to worry about a guide, I presume I can travel independently if not with a vehicle, it will save me getting a carnet, I plan to rejoin my bike the following spring.
Muztoo, I will be in touch nearer the time.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
