Last Call - UK to South Africa - West Coast
Hi
I will be leaving the UK on 8th December on my way to South Africa via:
Morocco; Western Sahara; Mauritania; Senegal [Gambia]; Mali; Ghana; Togo; Benin; Nigeria; Cameroon; Gabon; Congo [Cabinda]; DRC; Angola; Namibia; South Africa.
Hopefully, I will return going up the east coast
There are no time constraints and so I have plenty of time to "be a tourist".
The route is flexible and subject to last minute indecision.
I will be on an adapted BMW R80GS. My off road experience is limited and as such I will not be looking to challenge the Sahara or any significantly hard piste. My mechanical skills are limited to a 2V boxer engine with basic electrics.
If you are going my way or enroute, it would be great to meet up

Hi
i would prefere to go to Burkina Faso insted Ghana and to avoid senegal to go from mauretania directly into mali but anyway...if you come to Gaboun, give Greetings from Tobi to the local familie at S00°26'58,0" E010°17'59,6". They would be realy happy if you print the foto 97, 34 and 35 for them as there is no way to post it:
Lone way up...eine etwas andere Afrikareise *live*
In Cameroun you could make new friend if you bring the foto 96 and 36 to GPS N03°53'23.6" E011°30'51.7".
Have fun, Tobi

Hi,
If you are traveling past Orodara Eleonora you will find very nice people everywhere but specially here GPS N10°58'36.9" W004°52'15.1" you can ask for Konatel Mouss, give greetings from Tobi and stay there
People there are very happy to get fotos from them selfes or places they know...Konatel Mouss is on Foto 59 breaking down the wall so i can get in with my big motorbike
Riding the rough west coast through Africa
Travel save, Tobi

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
