Hi, we are leaving San Diego on Jan. 3rd. Going down to Baja and taking the ferry to the mainland. Final destination is still up in the air but we are planning on going to Chile as well. So perhaps we run into each other some place.

Pacifico,
Where does the ferry leave you? Does it go to CA or SA? I'm looking to drive (Land Rover) down to SA but want to avoid CA. I will be traveling with my family (wife and two daughters) and my wife (who is from Guatemala) recommends we skip CA. So far I haven't been able to find a shipping company to ship the Rover.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

John,
we are taking the ferry from La Paz to Mazetlan. Sorry, don't have any info regarding going all the way south via ship.

I'm leaving Houston on December 27. I'm figuring it'll take me two days to get to the crossing at Brownsville. (I'm in a van with two dogs...) Anyone else travelling this way?? I'm heading south, have no idea how far, but fares from South America to South Africa are looking pretty reasonable!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
