London to Cape Town 2011 July/Aug-Dec
I'm a female looking for travel partners to join me for all, or a part of, my journey from London to Cape Town in a few months time.
The vehicle is supplied fully kitted out and we will be using the roof tent and ground tent for sleeping arrangements. The vehicle also has a fridge and cooking facilities on board.
We'll be leaving in July through Europe to Venice and then over the Med to Egypt where we will start our journey down to South Africa.
ROUTE:
Egypt: Diving Red Sea, Mount Sinai, Luxor, Valley of the Kings, Ferry down the Nile (Aswan to Wadi Halfa)
Sudan: Begrawiya Pyramids, Meroe Tombs
Ethiopia: Gondor (Africa's "lost Camelot"), Lalibela, Lake Tana
Kenya: Masai Mara, Tsavo National Park, Mount Kenya
Uganda: Gorilla Trekking, Murchison Falls National Park
Tanzania: Lake Victoria, Serengati National Park, Ngorogoro Crater, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar
Malawi: Lake Malawi, Nyika National Park
Zambia: South Luangwa National Park, Kariba (may head into Zim for a bit?!), Kariba, Livingstone (Vic Falls) for a bit of white water rafting
Botswana: Chobe, Okavango Delta, Makgadikgai Salt Pans
Namibia: Etosha, Skeleton Coast, Sossusvlei, Swakopmund
South Africa: Cape Town, Garden Route, Transkei, Durban
If you are interested in finding out more information, please get in touch with a bit about yourself and your expectations.
A bit about myself: I am a PE Teacher (South African) who has been living in the UK for about 10 years. I have lead walking and canoeing expeditions in the past. I enjoy travelling and have done 3 months round SE Asia solo as well as hitchhiked around Southern Africa. I'm a keen snowboarder, enjoy the odd round of golf and dabble with a bit of photography in my spare time.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
