Hey Gazza

Daryl here (Saffer) I'm too doing the same trip at the same time: Tunisia; Libya; Egypt; Sudan and down the east coast all the way home (Durban South Africa.)
Would be good to hook up along the way!

Give me a shout some time and we could exchange plans over a pint.

Cheers Daryl Watson

G,day fellas,
Couldt,nt get to vindi,s doo as i just got out of hospital-had a op on my big toe done or else i would regret it one day.
So on bloody crutches, but not slowing down...
Anyway it gives me a little time to plan and take the bike to bits.
I am still thinking of going down the western side -i really want to see west africa. One of the problems is crossing the CAR,rep of congo then towards kenya, its either that or ride up through chad then southern sudan which is a long way to go to get around some possible strife,Whats your thoughts on this darryl, mjc, pob, vindi.
Vindi- which way did you go ???
Does anyone know how much detail is on the garmin worldmap software for Africa. I have a garmin e-map at the mo (handheld) and am thinking of selling ;and buying a garmin street pilot 3 of 5 , as well as taking some good maps.
Catch up soon ,
gazza

Hiya Gazza,

Also looking to head down the West and cross to Kenya, I'm also not sure on the safest route but will look a little closer to the time, ya know Africa...West Africa is a vital part of my trip so will make a plan somehow...will keep you posted if I find out something new...As for the GPS story, man that has done my head in but think I will just take the III+ and reasearch the way points, as there are no detailed maps of africa, not surprising though.
Later guys.
