Looking for an adventure in Southern Africa?

I am looking for some people to join me in an adventure around Southern Africa. I have purchased a Land Rover Defender (double cab with hard top) and I am currently in South Africa near Kruger National Park. The car has room for up to 4 so the more the merrier.

I don’t have an exact route just a general idea of going through South Africa to Mozambique along the coast up to Tanzania and then West to Botswana. The reason it will be an adventure is because of this lack of plan and the ability to do whatever we want. Accommodation could range from sleeping in tents on the beach to hotels and everything in between.

All costs related to travel, like petrol, will be shared evenly (it gets 10 Km per liter). All costs related to the car, like repairs, will be covered by me. The vehicle has been checked by a Land Rover mechanic and prepared for the adventure but of course anything can happen (hence the adventure).

We could arrange to travel together for a determined leg of the trip or amount of time. Im thinking about starting the trip within a month or so and its open ended. I am flexible so Im sure we can work out a plan! Looking forward to hearing from you…..

Hello, have you left yet? My son and I from Canada are heading north from Cape Town to Kenya in a week or so on bikes? Maybe we can meet up?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
