Mexico/Guatemala January 2015 - Guate/Honduras June 2015

Hi all. Just putting out some feelers to see if anyone wants to cross paths in Central America. I'm headed to Guatemala to study at a language school in January and will be there until June. Then I'm going to head east to Honduras to visit some of the schools that I taught at in 2012 - 2014.

I'm 32 and survived teaching for two years in Honduras. I had a Honda 250cc dual sport bike while I was down there and know Honduras pretty well. I have been doing nonprofit work there since 2010. My network there is pretty good.

So in January I'll be leaving from New England, USA and heading south. Pretty much slabbing it straight to Guate to get to school. I'll be living in Guate until June and will be taking weekend trips on the bike. Then in June I'll shoot across Guate and spend about 2 weeks in Honduras visiting. After that I'll slowly make my way back to the USA, probably beginning in late June/early July. I've spent a good amount of time in Guatemala already and expect to see most of the country while I'm living there (January-June). If you're interested in seeing Honduras, Guate, and exploring Mexico then maybe we can figure something out.

Cheers

It's official. I have my bike, kit and papers mostly in order and I'm leaving February 13/14 (weather contingent...it's been snowing here a lot lately).

Will be heading south to North Carolina to spend the night with a friend in Charlotte, and then head west to Houston TX to stay with another friend before heading for Reynosa. I expect to be crossing into Mexico on the 21/22nd and will head mostly down the middle of Mexico for 9 days give or take, with Quetzaltenango, Guatemala as my pitstop for some months. If anyone wants to meet up shoot me an message and maybe we can ride together for a stretch.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
