Mexico next Friday (Feb 12)

Hi There
My wife and I are leaving Phoenix next Friday to ride two-up to Veracruz. Our plan is to go south east to Saltillo and then south to El Cielo, El Tajin, Xalapa and then Veracruz - hopefully arriving AFTER Carnival.
If anyone wants to hook up along the way we'd welcome the company. We plan on three fairly long days to start because there's not much to see but after that it's basically a day of riding and a day of siteseeing, and then a week in Veracruz.
Cheers!
Dale

When you get back to Phoenix how long will you be around? I am picking my bike up there Feb. 25 and then heading south.

Back to Phoenix

Hi Cal
Knock on wood, we'll be back in Phoenix on March 2nd or 3rd . That'll give us a couple of days to service the bike and visit with my dad and then we fly home on the 5th. My son and I will be back on April 2nd though, to pick up the bikes and ride back to BC. He to Victoria and me to Summerland. Not sure what your plans are but if you're rding back at that time you're welcome to join us. We'll be making tracks, though. I'm now self-employed so I have a pretty loose schedule but Brad needs to get back because his time off is limited. We arrive late Thursday night, April 1st and our hope is to be on the road by the following afternoon - with a goal of making it back to BC in 3 1/2 days. (weather dependent of course)

Brad is our son and on this trip he's leaving a few days before us. He flys into Phoenix this coming Saturday and he hopes to be riding into Mexico by Sunday - with a loose plan that we'll hook up with him at the El Tajin ruins around Feb 20th.

On another note, we took your earlier advice and we're going to visit the El Cielo Biosphere Reserve. It'll be late in the afternoon when we arrive so we're staying two nights. We'll unwind, drink a little vino, get a good nights sleep and the next day take a 4X4 tour of the reserve.

Maybe our paths will cross
Take care
Dale

You will not be disapointed with the 4x4 tour of El Cielo! Just think of driving your 4x4 in the Okanagan up a creek bed for 30 km's!!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
