Michigan to Brazil - Motorcycle Trip

Hi All,

Looking for anyone going from USA to South America to travel the roads with on bikes. Even if you are only doing a portion, partnering for any section is good. Basically, I would just like someone/people to be on the road with for "safety in numbers". No need to "hang out" during the trip, but if you want, this is OK too.

Thinking about leaving sometime in October, from Michigan. Everything else is completely flexible. The Darién Gap crossing has a few options. By myself, I would probably take the ferry, but I am able to do any of the other possible "crossings".

My ultimate destination is Northeast Brazil, but I would go as far as Southern Argentina. I know this is a HUGE difference in destinations, but I am on a six month sabbatical, and if I am having a good time doing this trip, I will keep it going!

About me: I am an Architect and Anthropologist from the USA. I am married and plan to stay that way. I am easy going and get along well with pretty much everyone. I speak Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. Any other questions I can answer here in the forum, or in private messages.

Thanks!

Will be starting my ride from the Cartegena area sometime in Mid Jan to early Feb-2020; if you are expected to be in that area at that time I would join you until Peru,

I am also starting in Cartagena (beginning of January) and going to Cusco, Peru. We could ride together if timing is good.
Also, let me know if you need any particular info about route or border crossings thru Mexico and Central America. I just finished this leg of my journey.
Good Luck!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
