Mongolia-China-Laos Set/Oct 2011
Hi there!
we're a couple of Swiss travelling with a Landcruiser Camper, currently in Kyrkyzstan. We want to cross China this autumn and are looking for other vehicles to share the guide's cost.
We've just done this from Nepal-Tibet-Kashgar and it was great!!
So if anyone is planning something like this, please let us know! Bikers welcome!
cheers
Chrigi&Koelbi

Tour starting first week of Sept
Hi I was offered a to join a tour with an Austrian couple in the first week of Sept. The agents are Panorama Tour Co of Chengdu. Between the two vehicles the cost would be very good for China, I turned it down because I want to do my own tour, not be subject to the whims of others.
Regards
Les K

Grusse Chrigi & Koelbi,
I can't help you with your query but I'm curious about your LandCruiser Camper - can you tell me more please as I'm looking to modify my 'Cruiser for a RTW trip and I'm very open to ideas that others have implemented.
Cheers,
DickyBeach

Hi Dicky!
It looks as if you're an Aussie-guy... so if you can wait till mid next year, we come to Australia and show you our car...;-)
our website is (unfortunately in german, but Kölbi wants to put some pictures soon... you know, travelling doesn't leave you any spare time....)
Endlich auf Reisen! | Chrigis und Kölbis Reisetagebuch!
another good website is: Alpha-CAB Expeditionsmobile Allradreisemobile Wohnkabinen
that's where we have our cabin from, but we built everything inside by ourselves.
if you need to know earlier and more exact, just put mail@ instead of www. on our adress and we're happy to answer!
Cheers Chrigi&Koelbi

Hello Chrigi & Koelbi,
Thanks for the reply and especially the link to your blog where I could easily see the mods to your Cruiser. Does it "feel" top-heavy when you drive it and how will you ship it, I doubt it would fit in a standard shipping container.
And, thanks, I would like to catch up with you when you're in Oz next year, I'm in Sydney on the Northern Beaches.
We have another "connection" with you as we lived in Bern for 2.5 years, returning to Sydney just 2 years ago and my office was in Biel/Bienne, just across the road from the big Migros store and probably walking distance from your home. Small world eh?
Enjoy your travels and hope to see you Down Under next year.
Cheers,
DickyBeach

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
