Morocco In October anyone?
Hi
I am planning on travelling from Norway early October through Europe, spend some days in Southern Spain (Tarifa probably) and then ride around in Morocco some weeks. There is a Oilibya Rally from Oct 16-22 around Ouarzazate and I plan to hang around there and watch, ride and enjoy the atmosphere.
Rallye du Maroc
Apart from that Im going to check out many of Chris Scott's route suggestion and generally go and stay where it looks desireable to be. oh, and I will definetely ride in the dunes.
It would be nice to meet up, chat and ride with other travellers either in Morocco through parts of Europe. I like too regard myself as an experienced (dirt) rider, easy going and flexible. I will ride a dirt ready Transalp 700 on this trip.
cheers,
Tom

I just got a private reply that I cannot reply to because I have too few Hubb posts so far.. I will have to fix that asap.
Question was when I might enter Morocco; I wish to stay a couple of days or even more in Tarifa, South Spain to check out kiting and/or surfing and just hang out. I guess I might cross the strait somewhere around the Oct 10/11, but not quite sure about that yet. And yes, I too plan on riding a lot of dirt roads and back roads, thats the idea. I am a huge "Dakar" fan
I do believe it is a good idea to reply on the HUBB first and then go private mail later when details might get boring for others
Regards,
Tom

Sorry about that did,nt notice that you could,nt reply, Crossing around 10/11th would be great if your up for meeting in spain. Would be best to cross at algeciras to the Tanger port from experance on my trip last year as theres alot less hassle there.
Did try and get down to Morocco earlyer this year for another trip but had the misfortune of the KLR l was using blowing up in france. So it will be the old faithful R100GSPD once again.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
